Logo Design
Converting a 2D Logo into 3D
Character Design & Modeling
I can view 2D reference drawings of your character
and use "creative extrapolation" to create a 3D version
of your character. 2D and 3D are very different animals
and 2D images can have "suggested" details from things
such as cross-hatching, uneven line thickness or even the
absence of detail. These things do not translate directly
into 3D, so such a process would always be subject to some
degree of artistic interpretation and / or stylistic
streamlining. Fortunately for you, I am very good at
this. :) Just be aware that I may need to deviate from
the source material here and there to make everything fit
together well and animate in 3D.
Product Visualization
If you have actual schematics of your product, that
would be the quickest way to get a 3D representation. If
all you have is the item itsself or even just concept
sketches, then some "creative interpolation" would be
required to fill in the gaps when making the transition.
As a side note, when photographing items for 3D use,
back the camera away as much as possible, then zoom in as
tight as possible. This way, you minimize lens distortion
and the resulting photo will be as close to an "orthographic"
view as possible.
Materials & Textures
Materials are the characteristics of how surfaces look
when they render (are drawn into images). There are a
plethora of options to work with. Colour, shinyness,
translucency, reflectivity and transparency are just a few.
Some materials, such as simulated skin that absorbs light
can require longer rendering times.
Surface details and textures can also be painted on geometry as shown here:
Displacements & Normal Mapping
Painting displacements are creating lumps, bumps,
grooves, wrinkles, etc. without having to sculpt a bunch of extra
polygons to define them.
Logo Animation
What's better than a great looking logo? A great
looking logo that moves, of course.
Character Animation
This is usually a HUGE process. It involves many steps
just to get the character ready to be animated. There's
adding the skeleton, painting areas that define what parts of the
skeleton will use, making mathematical expressions for automated
bone movements, setting up chained morphs, etc., etc.. Of
course, once everything is put together and life is breathed into
the character... There's magic!
Particle Systems
When you see 3D dust, smoke, steam, fire or water, you are seeing
a particle system at work. I have several tools for this. One
is designed specifically to animate fire and smoke.
Another specifically for liquids. Then you got your general particle system with a variety of uses. Animating particles usually involves wind and gravity to push them about in fun ways.
Cloth Simulation
Clothing: If we don't wear them, we'll get arrested. I use
SyFlex for it's "academy award winning" cloth simulation technology.
Camera Match-Move
Do you have video footage? Give it here. I can match the
3D camera's motion to your real camera and seamlessly add CG elements.
Global-Illumination / Radiosity
This is the use of environmental or direct lighting that can
bounce off of an object's surface. This "bounced light" fills in dark areas that
would normally look very "old CG." The results are very pretty,
photo-realistic images. The rendering time for Global Illumination
can be extreme in some cases.
Advanced Camera Lenses
Advanced camera lenses can create fish-eye lenses or any other kind of
lens effect.

HTML
I am not a "full service" web designer. I created the
website you are looking at now. If your website need not be
overly complicated with elements such as PHP, server-side processing
or XML.. Then I can help you out. In a worst-case
scenario I can simply create the graphics for your website then you
hand them off to a web genius for integration into his web programming.
